Handmade Original Peanut Butter Cups

Chocolate covered creams, fruits, and nuts became the rage at the turn-of-the-century, starting with the famed French truffles. The most famous of the peanut butter cups was the one made by Henry Reese in 1928, but candy-makers everywhere had their own versions! Peanut butter was an inexpensive staple of Depression-era kitchens and could be found in treats like Corn Flake Candy and Potato Candy, both of which originated in the 1800s. Another 19th century favorite, Peanut Butter Fudge, traces its mouthwatering origins to Vassar College students. Our peanut butter cups were likely made before Reese’s – and you can taste the difference. Two cups in a heat-sealed bag with the history on the label.
