DESCRIPTION
Turkish delight is one of True Treats’ most-loved candy! It tastes a little like a jellybean center with a soft, rich texture and delightful flavor, whether you’re getting our mixed fruit, rose, lemon, or pomegranate. Not only are Turkish delights delightful, as the name says, but they are all natural, vegan, made in small batches. This historic favorite fits beautifully alongside civil war era candy, selections from the civil war candy box, and early 1800s candy traditions.
Turkish Delight was a medicine first, then a candy! It was originally sold in 10th century apothecaries as a treatment for sore throat. In the 1700s, a Turkish sultan loved it, and word spread about how tasty it was. A version of Turkish delight was even enjoyed in the U.S. Colonies.
In the 1860s, a Bostonian coated a candy with a hard sugar shell and sent it to Union soldiers during the Civil War. The name of that candy…the jelly bean!
Turkish delight was the first in a line-up of other so-called gum candies such as gum drops (1805), Wine Gums (1909), and gummy bears (1922). Eventually, Turkish Delight appeared in the beloved "Chronicles of Narnia."
All natural. 10 pieces in a recyclable, heat sealed bag with the history on the label.
Turkish Delight is brought to you by the nation’s ONLY researched-based historic candy company. Our founder, Susan Benjamin, is regularly on the History Channel’s “Food that Built America,” NPR, and other media talking about her favorite subject – Historical treats!

I visited the True Treats candy store in person several years ago. My daughter bought Turkish delight candy and she gave me a piece. It was love at first bite. I was so happy when I realized I could order these through the mail. Each piece is just the right size and firmness for a good, big, satisfying mouthful and the taste is amazing. I usually have one after lunch and one after supper and it is the perfect sweet ending to a meal. I have the one piece of candy instead of cookies or ice cream or other dessert so I say it is good for me!
Soft and fresh
These were great. The pomegranate was the best of the three I tried. Definitely will order again.
These are fun and tasty treats and I would buy again!
Lovely flavors. Consistency was perfect. Lov d every bite
