There’s nothing quite like an assortment of fruits, nuts and candy, most notably chocolate. In fact, fruit, nuts and chocolate were sold together at confectioneries, general stores, and upscale establishments for decades. This box has the best of each – many handmade using original recipes. There’s the cherry cordial, fruit flavored buttercream, chocolate-dipped ginger and such favorites as chocolate covered raisins and almonds…twelve candies in all. Eat and enjoy the finely textured chocolate, smooth and flavorful, and the fruits and nuts which provide contrast – whether the supple cherry of the cordial or crunchy almond, the creamy caramel topped with spirited sea salt (a new addition!) and the bourbon balls topped with a nut. Comes with a Keepsake Card telling the story of the candy inside with a period illustration. Enjoy! Content depends on availability – always the highest quality!

Chocolate-Covered Classics: The Story Behind Fruits, Nuts, and Sweets
Fruits, nuts, and candies, including chocolate, were sold together at confectioneries, general stores, and upscale establishments for decades. And, while they were sold separately, they also came together and became items in their own rights. One example, chocolate covered raisins starred in Bridge Mix - an assortment of chocolate-covered raisins, almonds, peanuts, and caramels - a marvel of candy-making and a favorite in polite society. Chocolate covered fruits and nuts also appeared as movie theater sensations – Goobers and Raisinets. Another favorite, cherry cordials, may have evolved from the medicinal cordial drink, but both the cherry and the chocolate went solo – and side-by-side – in the early fine foods establishments.
