And what is that story? For decades, candy-makers worked at creating a soft chewing gum. Then – in 1927, William Diemer, a 23-year-old accountant at the Fleer gum company, figured it out after sneaking in the company lab after work and testing recipes for three years! After that Diemer hit the road, teaching grocers everywhere how they, and their Dubble Bubble-loving customers, could blow bubbles.

Question: Why was bubblegum pink?

Answer: It was the only food coloring Diemer could find in the lab.
