DESCRIPTION
Coffee beans have been eaten for time immemorial, by sheep herders in Northern Africa, explorers to the North and South Poles, soldiers in the Civil War, to name a few. Roasted coffee beans have a pure, rich flavor, milder than brewed black coffee but flavorful throughout. They have a pronounced snap when you first bite in and remain crunchy from first bite to last. You can taste the quality: these coffee beans are roasted in small batches, are Ethiopian, the highest-grade coffee beans, made on a roasting machine that was used in Paris to make coffee for the U.S. Troops during WW2. Perfect when you need an energy boost or are just in the mood for coffee.
Size: .25 ounces in a 3x6" bag

The origin of coffee may have started in Ethiopia, where a goat herder noticed his goats grew energetic after eating beans from a tree. He tried the berries. Tasty. Yes. And energizing. In another version, a Yemenite Sufi mystic encountered birds eating berries with great enthusiasm and delight. He tried the berries. Same result. Whatever the origin, coffee appeared throughout the world, including North America, where Colonists used it as a substitute for British tea and, flash forward a few centuries, and coffee breaks were a mainstay of the working world. Explorers to the North and South Poles had a supply of coffee and Revolutionary War and Civil War soldiers crushed and boiled coffee from their rations. More to the point, soldiers, explorers and people-on-the-go ate coffee beans, often because they didn’t have the bandwidth or desire to prepare a cup. Besides, eating chocolate made for a delicious topping on finely crafted baked goods and when engulfed in chocolate.
