DESCRIPTION
These mints have a robust violet flavor, although the texture is melt-in-your mouth smooth in the tradition of NECCO Wafers and Canada Mints. Only these mints are firmer, with a smooth, easy crunch when you bite them. Of course, you may want them to slowly dissolve, for a long-lasting delight. A New York favorite since the 1930s.

Choward’s Violet Mints have been a favorite since the 1930s and a unique sweet today. This unique candy was first made by Charles Howard and his wife in the 1930s in their New York City apartment. They sold their creation from a push-cart on the NYC streets. Rumor has it, they were used to cover the smell of alcohol on the breath. The giveaway: the packaging tells us "Fragrance that refreshes after eating, drinking, or smoking.” New York City cops carried them around in their pockets, a tasty treat while on the beat. Still enjoyed in New York – and other places of good taste. Delightfully fragrant.
