Natural Native Sugars
Enjoy the taste of pure cane sugar and dried fruit – nothing else but so much more! Native Americans derived sugar from a variety of sources including berries like blackberries, cranberries, or blueberry. Raspberries, used by Native Americans as a food and sugar, were also prized for their leaves and stems which were used as tea and medicine.
What About the Cane Sugar?
Later, newcomers to North America brought cane sugar with its distinctive flavor and tangled past. Together, the fruit sugars of the Native Americans and the European brought cane sugar represent the blend of traditions and cultures that forged America.
