DESCRIPTION
One taste of these bourbon “cordials” will tell you you’ve just tried something amazing! The finely crafted chocolate balls have a dark chocolate shell, as rich and chocolatey as you’d ever want. One bite and you experience a liquid center, almost as unexpected (and delightful) as the pure bourbon flavoring that follows. The bourbon flavor – originally made from distilled corn and other grains - is actually alcohol-free, but you’d never know it from how it tastes…It could almost make you woozy! most likely in the 1400s. So delicious – it still makes you feel great today.
Size: 4 ounces in a 3x6" bag
Semi-Sweet Chocolate (Sugar, Chocolate Liquor, Cocoa Butter, Soy Lecithin, Vanilla), Cane Sugar, Confectioner's Glaze, Gum Arabic, Corn Starch, Wheat Starch, Natural and Artificial Flavors.

Cordials are a popular candy with countless iterations today. Love it as we may, the early cordial has a hidden past. “Cordials” were essentially medicines, typically a tonic that alleviated maladies by, for example, stimulating the heart. But these were no mere medicines: they were alcohol-based, and so poignant, they were once considered aphrodisiacs. Even better, these botanically based cordials tasted good, which likely enhanced their popularity and widespread use. How these cordial medicines became the cordial candy took about 200 years with help from the French of the1700s, the Colonists in the US, and the industrial wonders of late 19th century candy-making.
