Napoleon Sours

First made in Belgium in 1912, Napoleons have a deliciously tart, powdery center. Around then, hard candies transitioned from medicines to being all about fun. And for the name? Napoleon may have discovered the possibilities of beet sugar, but he had nothing to do with these candies. The candy-maker picked the name “Napoleon” after a friend and fellow candy-maker named his candies “Caesar.” These individually wrapped candies come in an 8 oz. bag with the history on the label.
