At True Treats we like to say our products are “unpackaged.” True, from the ancients on food was packaged and preserved to keep it fresh and edible. But packaging took on whole new meaning starting in the late 1800s, becoming the “Silent Salesman.” Every aspect of the package was increasingly constructed to ignite a response profoundly and preconsciously to make you buy. Colors that trigger feelings, shapes that tug on muscle memory, textures that tap into taste, and smells injected into the packaging material. Then there’s the mascots, taglines, and…oh, you know! So much the product itself is secondary.
Way back in Susan’s past, she was a communications strategist, researching the role of language in how we make decisions...marketing and otherwise. Don’t worry – nothing nefarious here, but definitely eye-opening. When she started True Treats in 2010, she knew our products were so interesting, so revealing, so amazing, why package? Let the goods speak for themselves. So, we use clear packages that let the product tell it all. Our newest packaging – Capsules – does that…and more. They’re useable, easy to store, easy to pour, and tell you exactly what you’re getting. We have nothing to hide and LOTS to reveal. BESIDES where better to have TIME CAPSULES?

- Time Capsules. Where better to put a time capsule than in a capsule? Comes with a letter from the Time Traveler describing each candy, a fun artifact from the past (think a copy of a check written by George Washington) and, of course, the candies themselves. GREAT for grown-ups to share with kids…talk, tastge and create a memorable experience!
- Mixed Delights. Sure, you can go out and get some jelly beans, but True Treats offers a mixture of chocolates (true-of-century delights still loved today!), jellybeans from old style and new, and licorice favorites.
- Fun and Festive. Mimosa mix, Golden Crunchies, Colorful Rock Candy. Fun and Festive? Yes!! Good for sharing or keeping in the kitchen for the moments you like best.
