This blend of delightfully earthy flavors - chickweed, wild cherry bark, and ginger root - were all important medicines to the Native Americans. Chickweed teas were prepared as kidney and liver tonics and other preparations of this flowering herb were used to treat eye complaints, inflammation, and colds. Wild cherry bark was used as a cough suppressant. Ginger root was used to treat a number of ailments including headache and upset stomach. To prepare this blend of treasures herbs, add a few teaspoons to a teapot and fill with boiling water. Let steep for five minutes and enjoy warm with milk, your favorite sweetener, or both.
