From Kentucky, a mingling of whiskey and mint flavors enrobed with rich, dark chocolate that recall the "mint julep" - the official drink of the Kentucky Derby. During Prohibition, restaurant owners compensated for revenues they lost because of the ban on alcohol by selling after-dinner candy. Many were flavored like alcohol or named for a specific drink.
