Who doesn't love Turkish Taffy? It's campy, creative and fun. And why shouldn't it be? In the late '20s, it was supposed to be a marshmallow but the candy-maker added to many egg whites and after a few years of trying this and that...came up with what? Not exactly taffy. And not exactly Turkish. But why not call it Turkish Taffy...because, what else? The candy was a hit on the campy and creative Coney Island boardwalk when musclemen and bathing beauty contests were at hit. Eventually the Bonomo family - actually from Turkey - bought the candy and the name, finally, fit!
