Sultry Cherry Cordials Circa 1920s

A long-time Valentine’s Day favorite, these cherry cordials are sweet and succulent with rich dark chocolate. They’re handmade from an original 1920’s recipe and come in an elegant truffle box with six sweet and creamy candies. Perhaps the only thing more impressive than the candy is the history. Originating in Renaissance-period apothecaries, the cordial was an alcohol-based medicine – and aphrodisiac – made with fermented fruits, spices, and herbs to stimulate the heart and improve circulation. Eventually cordials became a fruit-based alcohol and…in the late 1800s, a candy that was deliciously decadent and alcohol-free. Comes in an elegant truffle box with a keepsake tag.
