Chamomile Tea – Healing. Calming. Perfect.
“Chamomile is one of the most ancient medicinal herbs known to mankind.” So says the National Institute of Health. Throughout history, the delicate, yellow-flowered plant has been used to treat a variety of ailments, such as hay fever, muscle spasms, menstrual disorders and hemorrhoids. In Medieval Europe, Chamomile was also used as a flavoring for beer! So valuable was chamomile, the Colonists packed quantities on ships heading for North America. Today, chamomile is the most popular of all herbal teas: tea lovers drink more than one million cups a day. To make chamomile tea, just put chamomile – one or two teaspoons, depending on taste – in a cup, add boiling water, leave for about five minutes, and drink. If you want to add flourish to your tea add fruit, honey, mint, vanilla, milk, or sugar or blend the chamomile with other botanical teas.
